              Fly-Fishing the Rocky Mountain Backcountry

          Rich Osthoff is author of Fly-Fishing The Rocky Mountain Backcountry and has logged well over 100 backpacking trips throughout the remote wilderness areas of the Rockies. This scenic show takes a close-up look at many of the best backcountry fisheries, including:

     Rich Osthoff discusses trout fishing on his home waters—the dozens of excellent spring creeks of western Wisconsin. Rich has fished the Driftless Area of western Wisconsin for nearly five decades and offers many valuable insights into fly-fishing the region. He discusses:

     *The best times to fish the region for fast action and larger brown trout  

     *Innovative nymphing techniques, including long-line nymphing, that are well-suited to targeting spring creek trout

     Rich Osthoff discusses wade fishing many of the West’s best public rivers without a guide and at minimal expense. Camping cuts the cost of fishing the West to $200 a week, all inclusive, and inexpensive public camping is available near all these rivers. Over the years Rich has compiled many weeks on these rivers and you’ll walk away with a grasp of productive fishing strategies, plus valuable insights into avoiding the crowds on popular rivers, even during the busy summer months. Rich discusses:
